Miege Comes to Visit

21 September Vs. Bishop Miege at home (1-0)


Well we played our 4th EKL game of the season, and we stayed perfect at 4-0.  Miege played us about as well as a team can play us and not win.  We cashed an early set piece when Welsh went to Muckerville, but that was all we could put on the scoreboard.

It seems like we should have/could have put another 1-2 up, but we did not. We definitely lost the 50/50 battle to the Stags as they won so many of those balls that could have been anyone's.

Overall, we played pretty well in the first half, but we made an attempt to jump start the second half by beginning in the diamond, but honestly we played much worse and had to get out of it 7 or 8 minutes into the second half.

We did noticeably miss Consuegra as we were not exactly electric attacking the goal as we have been in the last few matches.  Actually Yoseph Ephrem played pretty well at left wing. He may get some more opportunities out there. And Joey Pollock put in a strong match on the right side, with lots of possessions and attacks down that right sideline.

We are off now until net Tuesday when we will see BV Southwest. After that we head to Iowa for the national tourney.  So we have some games coming up.

I will take the Stags in 4A; I can't imagine anyone even coming close to them.

Halo did broadcast the game, and it is well worth the watch as it is quite entertaining with Morrissey and Arth doing the broadcast, giving us insights not only into the boys and the match but also into all kinds of things Aquinas (Joey sporting a new haircut, Mr. Brown's religion class "Death and Dying").
