Saints Entertain BV Northwest

Game 6: (5-0-1)
16 September vs. Huskies at home (2-0)

We continue our second quarter tonight against another very good side from BV Northwest. We did see the Huskies in Summer League, and it was a close match. We will debut Gabe Garcia in our starting line-up for the first time as the "6," and we will welcome Yoseph Ephrem back from illness.

It was one heck of a match. The score stood 0-0 at the half with virtually no offense for either team. Northwest played such a withdrawn striker that they basically played with a 4th center midfield.

Second half we came out in a diamond, and the formation seemed to jump start us into some attack. We created several scoring opportunities, and we were able to cash a couple of those.

One of the tragedies of our second goal may be that we have lost Anthony Consuegra as his foot was not in good shape as he left the field tonight.

Garcia did have a nice match at the "6"—so it sure seems like that spot will work out well for him and us. And Johnny Weinrich gave us a complete match at right back. Drew Weisner did have some good minutes for us at that double "8" spot in the diamond.

We were able to get back to Muckerville, and that usually spells a victory for us. And Weinrich and Muckerman made the BWhite movie cam tonight as MOM.

I marvel at how good The EKL is Top-to-Bottom—such a great soccer league. BVNW played so well!
